A classic ‘heart and crown’ armchair in the finest ‘as descended’ surface—original black paint with great wear characteristics. Shaped and pierced crest, molded banisters, turned under arm supports and with boldly-turned front stretchers. Maple, ash, and poplar, south central CT, third quarter of the 18th century. 48" ht.
