A Rare Set Of Six Bowback Windsors With Sharply-Creased Bows- Price Upon Request
A rare set of six bowback windsors with sharply-creased bows, turned and swelled spindles, and with complex side and medial ‘yoke’ stretcher arrangement. In original, ‘as descended’ condition with a discolored old varnish over old yellow over black and red paint. Attributed to Seaver and Frost, Boston, 1790–1810. A similar chair is pictured in Santore, Vol I & II, p.137. This set of chairs descended directly in the Channing Howe family of Duxbury, MA. 39 ½" ht, 18 ½" seat ht.
