Andrew Wyeth’s watercolor “Buoys” was the topper at Grogan & Company’s April 10 sale here when it sold to an area collector for $115,000. The picture, which measured 91/4 by 16 inches, will be included in an upcoming catalogue raisonné of Wyeth’s work. A stunning signed and dated watercolor by Frank Weston Benson, “Geese in Flight over Marsh,” attracted great interest and sold on the telephone for $103,500. The sale was Grogan’s 100th and choice offerings brought choice money. A complete report of the sale will appear in a future issue. -Frances McQueeney-Jones Mascolo
