SANTA FE, N.M. — A trio of beaded war shirts bested all others at Allard Auction’s August 12–14 sale of American Indian art and artifacts. Top honors went to a hide shirt, $33,000) decorated with American flags. A Teton Sioux beaded war shirt (pictured above) made $27,000. Formerly in the Goodman Collection, a quilled Northern Plains shirt garnered $24,000.
