GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — The Keeler family of Connecticut were known as silversmiths, but an inlaid mahogany Connecticut tall case clock with a painted dial with the name “I. Keeler” was the top lot at Withington’s “Fabulous Mid-Winter Auction” on February 26. The catalog speculates that the clock may be the only example by the maker and it sold for $9,600. The sale also included a selection of early furniture, mocha, silver and more. Prices quoted include the buyer’s premium as reported by the auction house.
