Leading the day was a 176-piece sterling silver flatware service for 12 in the Etruscan pattern by Gorham Manufacturing Company (Providence, R.I.). Nelson For Herman Miller Suite Tops Michaan’s
ALAMEDA, CALIF. — A George Nelson for Herman Miller rosewood Thin Edge dresser and a single nightstand went well over its $2/3,000 estimate on February 13 when it sold for $11,700 at Michaan’s. The maker introduced the Thin Edge model in 1952, and this suite was from circa 1965. The dresser had ten drawers in total: a row of four over six. The nightstand had one drawer over two shelves. KINGSTON, N.Y. — On February 15, Collective Hudson conducted its Spring Exceptionelle sale, which featured just over 500 lots of decorative arts, furniture and fine art. A signed circa 1910 Tiffany Studios Peony floor lamp led the day, landing within its $50/150,000 estimate at $72,500. The Art Nouveau-style lamp’s glass shade featured vibrant red, pink and white peonies against lush green foliage, and was paired with a patinated bronze telescopic base with a spiral motif.
