SANTA FE, N.M. — In Santa Fe Art Auction’s two-day Native Arts auction, February 4-5, an untitled river valley scene by Tony Abeyta (Diné [Navajo], b 1965) earned top-lot honors. The acrylic-on-paper work was signed to the lower right and had provenance to Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe as well as a private collection in Colorado. Measuring 27½ by 35½ inches framed, the work hung for $20,180, including buyer’s premium, far exceeding its $8,000 high estimate. An upcoming issue will highlight additional results from the auction.
