Family Register/Memorial Sampler - Price Upon Request

Jane Bancroft stitched the unusual family register/memorial sampler in 1830 at the age of 23 in Dunstable, Massachusetts. The memorial is to her sister Martha Bancroft, born in 1816 and died in 1817. Interestingly Jane probably stitched in the death dates of her sibling on this family heirloom, note her brother Jonathan died in 1888. Jane was one of ten children born to Jonathan Bancroft and Sarah Taylor. She married Isaac Cummings, a stonecutter, in 1837, and they had two children. It is silk on linen, 17 by 17¼ inches sight.
