Porringer Marked By Richard Lee- $1550
There is Richard Lee and Richard Lee, Jr. and one can not usually tell which one made a certain piece. The father didn’t have an apprenticeship and seemed to make his own molds. The porringers were typically with a 2 ¼” bowl. There were a variety of different handles as the molds were probably soapstone and didn’t last long. This porringer has the straight line touch “RICHARD LEE” and the bowl is 2 ¼”. The porringer is in fine condition.
