Ash, maple and pine in Nineteenth Century green paint with coach-painted deco-ration in gold and black. This chair was originally made as a rocker and is pictured and discussed on page 61 of Nancy Evans’s American Windsor Fur-niture Specialized Forms. It is of Rhode Island origin, 1795–1805, and measures 44½ inches high, with a 17½-inch seat height.
