Lynne “Lily” Buckus, 51, died May 26, after an illness. She was born September 13, 1954, in Norwood, Mass.

Lily is survived by her four children, Scott Nagle, Wendy Buckus, Brett Buckus and Ashley Buckus, and her father, Harold Temple.

Lily graduated from college to become a school teacher, then soon started an antiques business with her husband Eddie Buckus. They opened a shop in Derry, N.H., then moved Northwind Antiques permanently to Route 4 in Epsom, N.H., where they specialized in Victorian furniture.

By 1995 the computer age caught her attention, and she soon started dabbling in selling her goods on a fledgling Internet site called eBay.

Lily’s command of the English language, and love of historical research made her not only a natural for her often lavish write-ups, but she was always a stickler for the most minute details concerning every facet of each piece she listed. The poetic write-ups were then combined with intricate period room settings to give the customer the “feel” of how the piece would look in their home.

Never trying to only cater to one type of customer, Lily’s “Norwinda” eBay site sold everything from vintage baby carriages to authentic Sixteenth Century English furniture. Lily sold pieces around the world, and her daughter Wendy has been delivering pieces across the country for years.

Lily’s partner, Elliott Morehardt, and her daughter Wendy will continue the business in the spirit in which it was formed, although Lily’s spirit will never be replaced. Lily was always known for her warm personality and giving nature. Her family always came before the business, and despite several hardships, Lily always kept a loving positive attitude.

The Norwinda site has influenced many throughout the antiques field, as quality pieces become fewer, descriptions and marketing have become better. Often copied, sometimes envied, Lily knew it was the passion and love for antiques and people that made her a success.
