CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – “” is an original exhibition of fine print press books, prints and engraved woodblocks and plates dating from the late Nineteenth Century through the present at Boston College’s John J. Burns Library of Rare Books and Special Collections. The exhibition, free and open to the public, runs through November 29.

The exhibition begins with selections produced by noted Nineteenth Century artist and designer William Morris’ Kelmscott Press — an “undertaking” to which the fine print owes its resurrection. It also includes books from the Golden Cockerel Press, Curwen Press and Gregynog Press. Special highlights are a personal letter, engraved blocks and examples of a font and artwork from the BC collection of British sculptor, graphic artist and type designer Eric Gill, as well as examples of fine print books from BC’s renowned Irish Collection, featuring Dun Emer, later Cuala Press, Three Candle Press, Dolmen Press and Traffic Street Press.
