“Most people consider him the hero of the studio movement,” said host Daniella Ohad, design historian. “His pieces were the first studio furniture to be collected in the secondary marketplace.” The New York School of Interior Design and Rago Auctions produced this exploratory video on the iconic legacy of furniture craftsman George Nakashima. The video surveys curators, dealers, auctioneers and interior designers as they delve into Nakashima’s furniture and flesh out the man who created it all.
