DOWNINGTOWN, PENN. — Sailing across the auction block in Pook & Pook and Noel Barrett’s joint antique toy auction September 15 was a Märklin Jolanda painted tin clockwork riverboat in all original uncleaned condition that brought $51,240, including the buyer’s premium.
Consigned by the first owner’s family, the boat retains its original anchor wheeled cradle and American flag, and what appears to be the original rigging. It measures 15½ by 29 inches.
A complete report on the auction will appear in an upcoming edition.
