Ca. 1900, rooster decoration is a real rarity in Daum and this example is special, with beautiful artistry, great detail and gilding. On the back in enamel is the saying "Je Chanteclare", which means "I Chanteclare", the name of the rooster in the tale of Reynard the Fox.
