HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. – Topping Leland Little’s Winter Quarterly Auction on December 2 was a vibrant Alex Katz (b 1927) oil portrait, titled “Ukulele Player,” with provenance to Marlborough Gallery. Estimated at $20/40,000, it went to an online bidder for $147,600, including premium, after spirited bidding. The sale featured more than 500 lots of art, silver, furniture and decorative arts, jewelry, watches, couture and accessories, rugs and Asian.
