
ATHENS, GA. — A rare 1960 Lionel 1639WS train set in factory original boxes attained $6,517, including buyer’s premium, at Cagle Auction Company, chugging past its $2,5/5,000 estimate on June 13 in the first session of a two-day sale. The set (detail shown) was factory-complete, except for the track, and came with a No. 6812 maintenance car and manuals for the 637 and 2037 smoke locomotives.
