Native American, San Ildefonso Pueblo Pottery sgraffito Avanyu Jar by Tony Da. This jar is from the early 1970’s. It is fully polished and etching into the surface of the pottery (sgraffito) a wonderful Avanyu (Plumbed serpent) The jar is a wonderful shape with a slight shoulder where the sgraffito bands and then a dip up towards the neck. The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “DA”.
