Kittinger, Williamsburg Wing Chair- $3750
This outstanding Federal period wing chair, also known as an easy chair, is an exacting reproduction of the Baltimore cabinetmaker original dating to the end of the 18th Century. A very rare Williamsburg reproduction, this chair was a piece originally displayed in the Coke-Garrett House. Made of mahogany, this robust chair has checkered inlay banding along the front and sides of the skirt with beautifully tapered legs decorated with an inlay bellflower motif surrounded by string inlay and cuff banding on the lower leg. The inlay work is made of boxwood. Not only does this chair have elegant proportions but it is exceedingly comfortable. In outstanding original condition, this chair is upholstered in Williamsburg Antique Blue Lackawana Leather with individual nail head trim.
