“Flowering Dogwood” Tiffany Lamp- Price Upon Request
A Tiffany Studios New York “Flowering Dogwood” lamp that has a landscape effect of changing color around the shade. The shade is covered in multi-hued flowers criss-crossed by branches against a luminous royal blue background. Two bands of rectangular rippled green-glass tiles run around the lower rim. The shade incorporates many different colors - with blue/green and cream/white being the strongest - and plays off the contrast between confetti (fractured) glass and mottled glass. Circa 1900. A similar shade and base are pictured separately in: “Tiffany Lamps and Metalware: An illustrated reference to over 2000 models”, by Alastair Duncan, Woodbridge: Suffolk: Antique Collectors’ Club, 198. Shade: p. 72, plate 279; base: p. 77, plate 298. Shade signed: ''Tiffany Studios New York''. Base signed: ''Tiffany Studios New York 359''. Dimensions: 18½ '' diameter x 25½ '' high.
