BEVERLY, MASS. — On January 10-11, Kaminski Auctions conducted the first sessions of property from the estate of Dalia Zikas, a post-WWII German immigrant and former consultant for the Office of Personnel Management at Hanscom Air Force Base. Offering nearly 1,000 lots over the two-day series, a Donald Dunlap-style tiger maple highboy (shown) and “Arey’s Cove,” an oil on board by William Lester Stevens (Cape Ann, Mass., 1888-1969) both achieved the high price of $6,250, including buyer’s premium. The highboy measured 75 inches tall and had provenance to a Cohasset, Mass., collection. The 30-by-36-inch landscape from the Zikas estate was signed to the lower right. Additional highlights from both days will be featured in an upcoming issue.
