ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Selling for first, second and third place honors at Brunk Auctions’ July 19–20 sale was a group of three KPM porcelain plaques from a Montclair, N.J., collection. Of the three, the standout lot was a monumental example depicting ladies at their toilette, after Hans Makart (1840–1884) that realized $40,800, quadruple its estimate ($10/15,000).
