LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — Julien’s Auctions’ three-session auction of Marilyn Monroe’s personal and career items November 17–19 raised nearly $11 million, led by the actress’ iconic “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress she wore in 1962 when she famously sang to President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden in New York. The dress sold for an auction record price of $4.81 million to Ripley’s Believe it or Not.
