Carved shelf bracket, walnut, American, probably Pennsylvania, late Nineteenth Century. Condition: Excellent, minor wear. Wonderful vestiges of old varnish finish. This finely carved and executed shelf is laminated with several pieces. The exceptional carving is revealed with the depiction of two birds in a nest among foliage. 17 inches high by 18 inches wide by 10 inches deep (shelf).
