The February 21st Unreserved Estate Auction features the contents of a Chestnut Hill Estate: an eclectic mix of contemporary and antique furniture, as well as decorative art. A Terence Main cast bronze chair titled “Sidewinder,” a pair of finely carved Italian putti, a pair of Russian silver stag stirrup cups, a diamond and sapphire platinum engagement ring and an 18th century Louis XVI marble top commode are some of the highlights of the sale.
Fine art on offer includes an abstract mixed media attributed to Moholy Nagy, paintings by Sally Michel Avery, Daniel Wentworth and an American Pennsylvania school landscape/barn with an “N.C. Wyeth” label. There is also a selection of important Asian items including a bronze Buddha and a Qing Dynasty carved jade mushroom pendant.
