The final lecture and gallery tour of the exhibition “With Needle and Brush Schoolgirl Embroidery from the Connecticut River Valley,” curated by Carol and Stephen Huber in conjunction with the Florence Griswold Museum will be conducted on January 15 at 2 pm. More than 75 works selected by the Hubers, mostly from private collections, and many never before shown, are on view in the three main galleries of the museum.
The lecture will be preceded by an open house from 10 am to noon at the Huber’s gallery, 40 Ferry Road, Old Saybrook, Conn., less than five minutes from the museum. Attendees are invited to bring a needlework for identification and discussion following the lecture at the museum.
The museum is at 96 Lyme Street. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $7 students and free to children under 12. There is a $7 fee for the presentation. Reservations can be made at www.FlorenceGriswoldMuseum.org or 860-434-5542 extension 111.
