Decoys: We are pleased to offer under short notice the Roger Williams Collection of Decoys and Americana. The sale will include many Lincoln decoys with many geese, ducks and sea ducks from his Coot Farm Collection (Coot is the local name of scoters). Roger was an avid duck hunter particularly of sea ducks. His uncle, Abel Poole of Rockland, MA, hunted with Joe Lincoln and Roger has memories of sitting and talking hunting with them on the porch of his uncle’s home as a young man. The sale includes over 250 decoys and carvings. Other makers include: A.E. Crowell, James Look, several Gus Wilsons, A. Wallace, Keyes Chadwick, Ward Brothers, Masons, Madison Mitchell, Gelston, Fred Gardner, Wilbur Corwin, Abel Poole, Follet, Fabens, F. Adams, Clarence Hinkley, J. Smith, Hart, Dobbins, Wheeler, Nickerson, Boyd, Oaks, Richardson, Wildfowler, Conklin, plus many others. Americana & Folk art: Roger Williams was very involved with the Coca-Cola company. Beginning at 5:30, twenty-eight lots of Coca-Cola memorabilia will be sold, including early signs, advertising clock, radio, early bottles, including Joe Paterno bottle, Coca-Cola pins from the 1988 Calgary Olympics, and a collection of 135 international flag pins. Also, an original Benson watercolor, snowshoes, a carved cod fish and whale, cobbler set, oars and paddle, small boat, bobsled, early bark-covered Native American square basket, paintings and prints, shell boxes and more.
