DOWNINGTON, PENN. – Noel Barrett and Pook and Pook motored to success with a Marklin clockwork Electric Tramway trolley car. Drawn from the Owl’s Tale Shop Christmas Window Collection of Haddonfield, N.J., the 9½ inch long vehicle in original condition with a functional mechanism overtook its estimate to bring $21,960. A circa 1910 Marklin carousel, 13½ inches tall and with its original fringed canopy intact, came in under estimate at $20,740. The Marklin devices topped Pook and Barrett’s March 24 auction featuring just under 500 lots of antique toys.
