“Liberty in the form of the Goddess of Youth; giving Support to the Bald Eagle” An unusually large and beautifully wrought silk needlework picture, based on the 1796 Philadelphia engraving by Edward Savage. Transcribed on reverse: “Done by Harriet Merriam (born Dec. 5, 1797) in her sixteenth year.” Boston, c. 1813. 24 1/2” x 21” (framed). Hannah later married Joseph Fisher, master mate of the USS Constitution during the war of 1812.
