Lots 195 & 215 195: Robert Crowder (American, 1911-2010), hand-painted four panel floor screen depicting Asian inspired figural landscape, two central panels with man, woman and child situated in front of pagoda, woman is seated on table holding fan in one hand and a perched cockatoo in the other and child at her feet playing with a ball, man is seated in upholstered chair with foot on pillow, right panel shows female servant holding torch, left panel with male servant holding torch and child playing with stringed butterfly toy next to him, floral and foliate decoration, trees and urns throughout back and foreground, calligraphy and signed on center right edge of right panel, some scratches to surface and small area of isolated loss to top of center panel crease and corners, 59 ½" h. x 96" w. [The American-born artist, Robert Crowder, is best known for his Nihonga, or Japanese-style painting.
