George III mahogany breakfront, English c. 1770-80, scrolled pediment with dentil molding flanking central platform for finial (missing), over fluted frieze, punctuated by round bosses, over central section with two glazed doors flanked by pair of glazed doors, all opening to shelved interior in upper case, central lower case having drop-front pull-out desk opening to fitted interior with letter holes over drawers and writing surface with gilt-tooled red leather, all over pair of cabinet doors with applied molding and circular bosses in corners, flanked by two banks of five graduated drawers with cock-beaded edges, drawers with ornate gilt brass handles having circular backplates with beaded trim, geometric pattern mullions in glazed doors, the whole raised on molded plinth, some repairs to scrolls and carved acanthus rosette, restoration to cornice and some of the dentils, breakfront section is separated from left cabinet where upper and lower cases meet, repairs visible, side panels checked, some sun fade, cracked glass on right side, 99 1/2" h. x 92" w. x 24 1/4" d.
