Lot 64: Giovanni Maresca (Italian, 19th C.), oil on canvas board depicting interior genre scene in which colorfully dressed peasants including young women, boy, and elderly couple preen at baby, chicken and chicks trotting around stone-flagged kitchen floor in foreground, signed "Maresca" LR, frame bearing plaque engraved "Maresca", Tim Hall Restorations, Plainville, CT label dated January 2014 attached verso, also DuMouchelles, Detroit, MI auction tag included (although no results when searched), blacklighting reveals two tiny areas of retouching, one located to the upper right of the signature, and one found in folds of dark green dress of woman holding baby, isolated craquelure, retouched and regilded frame, not examined out of frame, ss: 21 1/8" h. x 28 ¼" w.
