Diminutive or child's slant front desk, New England, early 18th C., inlaid walnut, walnut veneer and maple, chestnut and pine secondary woods, slant lid with inlaid chevron banding, interior with central shelved prospect door flanked by tandem valanced compartments above tiers of two serpentine drawers, all flanked by stepped tiers of shelves above central recessed till, frame with lopers and applied molded surrounds, chevron panel inlaid frieze above row of chevron panel inlaid drawers all above single drawer, molded base resting on bun feet, signs of original past cotter pin brasses, brasses and hinges replaced, some restorations, early feet with wear to endgrain but possibly restored, refinished, scattered patches, etc., 27" h. x 24" w. x 14 1/4" d.
