Large Viennese/ Austrian enamel jewelry chest/casket, 19th C., gilded bronze mounts on ebonized wooden case inset with hand-painted plaques of classical figural scenes, finial in the form of a figure/child riding lion mounted on domed top inset with oblong panels and mounts of caryatids at corners, stepped case in two parts, upper case with enameled columns at four corners and terminating with four bronze satyrs, paneled sides including two cabinet paneled doors (one with release on interior side) which are mounted with double-sided panels and open to reveal three long drawers with oval panels, brass ring pulls and blue enamel flowers, lower case with pair of ovoid panels to each side and single drawer front, raised on square base with bracket feet, filigree spandrels (two detached, three missing spandrel mounts), wear consistent with age including checking, cracks, small loss and repairs to wooden case/ veneer throughout, four mounts detached, loose mounts, light scratches and flea bites to edges, rubbing to finish in high areas, etc., sold as is, detached pieces in office, 12" h. x 8 1/4" w. x 7" d.
