Aaron Draper Shattuck (American, 1832 - 1928),"Connecticut Pastoral with Hay Wagon", oil on board, depicts pastoral scene with hay wagon, figures and oxen in mid-ground, winding stream in foreground with lush foliage and water lilies, fields lined with split-rail fence, Colonial structures and rolling mountainous horizon comprise the background, signed and dated "A. D. Shattuck" and "1875" LL, wear consistent with age and use, scattered small areas of old in-painting, wear to edges where board meets frame, recently cleaned, contained in period frame, sight size: approximately 13 3/4" h. x 21 1/2" w., frame size: 25 1/4" h. x 33" w. x 3 3/4" d.  [PROVENANCE: Painting has been submitted, and will be included, in the forthcoming Aaron Draper Shattuck catalog raisonne.
